Re-entry Information

If you are an EMS First Responder, EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate or EMT- Paramedic and you are unable to renew your license because you did not complete any or some of the renewal requirements, you will have to take the following steps:

1. Complete a NM EMS Re-Entry Application (located under “Licensing” on our website www.nmems.org).

2.  Attach a copy of a current NM refresher course completion certificate at your licensure level (completed within the last 15 months).

3.  Attach a copy of a current healthcare provider CPR card.

(Paramedics also need to attach a copy of a current ACLS card).

4.  Attach a check, money order or PO (NO cash accepted) for the appropriate re-entry fee:

EMS First Responder  $  60.00

EMT-Basic                    $  90.00

EMT-Intermediate       $120.00

EMT-Paramedic           $150.00

Once I have received your complete re-entry packet I will schedule you for the next available state test site to complete your NM EMS state exam. A confirmation letter will be mailed to you. You will be allowed two attempts to successfully complete your NM EMS licensure exam. If you exhaust both attempts you will have to repeat the entire EMT class.
