Emergency Medical Technicians - A fee of twenty-seven dollars ($27.00), which shall be in addition to the regular motor vehicle registration fee, shall be collected by the department for the original issuance of the special registration plate for Emergency Medical Technicians. Reminder – data reporting to the state is now required
All EMS and Fire Agencies that provide EMS services should be submitting patient care reports to the electronic New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Tracking and Reporting System (NMEMSTARS). Distribution of the EMS Fund Act monies will be partially based on the number of runs entered into NMEMSTARS from October 1st through September 30th of the reporting year. Services that do not enter their runs into the system may not receive their full allotment of funding. The system can be accessed on the web at www.nmemstars.org, or contacting one of the Regional EMS offices or the Bureau staff in Santa Fe.
